TGIF ... or, why I'm excited about Fridays in June!

I am pretty excited for all of the Fridays in June. But not for the reasons you might expect. One of my favorite things to do is stand in front of an audience and talk about eco-friendly funeral options. I truly love public speaking, especially when it is something I believe in with my whole being. Every Friday in June, I get to do just that.
On those days, from 10am to 2pm, I will be at one of the senior centers in Whatcom County for What’s Next: Planning Ahead – Making Choices For Your Legacy and Health Care. “These are informative fairs that are free and open to everyone to gather information and resources to help plan for present and future needs, including estate planning, senior living, caregiving, legal & financial services and more.” I think funeral planning must be the unmentionable “more.” sigh
There are two presentations repeating at each senior center. In the morning from 10:30 – 11:30. Phillip George, Elder Law Attorney is giving a presentation called Estate Planning With Purpose. Phillip’s firm is Safe Harbor Legal Solutions. He is a good person and a good attorney who is driven by his heart. I have gotten to know him well as a regular guest on his radio show The Aging Hour. Phillip is one of the tiny handful of attorneys I refer folks to. I love knowing other professionals that serve with shared values and ethics.
I will be the second presenter. I am on in the afternoons from 12:45 – 1:30pm. Hey, I just realized that they gave Phillip fifteen more minutes than me! Oh well. My presentation is called Beyond Burial & Cremation: Making Sense of New Funeral Choices. I will discuss all the options now available for our bodies when we are done with them.
I will also be tabling all day at the fairs. So please come by and say hello. I would love to see you and I have a lot of Wildflower pens to give out. Here are all the dates, times and places.
